🛠️ Home Maintenance Checklist for March
Spring has sprung (well officially anyway) and soon winter will release it's icy grip. As a Smart Homeowner, you know keeping up with home maintenance can sometimes feel like a chore. The good news is that tackling a few small tasks now prevents big headaches (and expensive repairs) later.
March Maintenance Mission: System Wake-Up
This month's focus is on completing some pre-spring checks, clearing the last of the winter gunk, and preparing for water usage.
Your tasks for the next 30 days are:
Gutter Clearance: Give your rain gutters one final clean-out before the spring rain hits. You want all that water running freely away from the foundation!
Fridge Coils: Vacuum the dust buildup off the refrigerator coils (usually located on the back or bottom). This simple step improves efficiency and extends your fridge's life.
Test Shut-Offs: Test your main water shut-off valve and any other local shut-off valves. You need to know they work in case of an emergency.
A/C Check: Now is a great time to schedule your professional Air Conditioning system tune-up. It's going to get HOT soon!
Don't forget about your Furnace Filter: While your at it, change that darn furnace filter. In case you didn't know, your A/C unit depends on a clean filter too!
